Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street (2021 film)

I’d have stayed away from this one if it weren’t for the glowing reviews. I typically don’t respond well to documentaries that treat their subjects with such reverence that it effectively doubles as a feature-length commercial, and all signs pointed to that describing “Street Gang” well. It’s a mighty fine commercial, though, most effective when it’s humanizing the creative process by casually showing a bit from rehearsals to broadcast. It’s also plenty great at repurposing archival footage so it often feels of the present moment. This won me over, and I imagine Sesame Street enthusiasts would absolutely adore this film.
