Side Pocket (SNES version)

The best sports titles on older systems tended to sidestep simulation in favor of conveying the joy of play, to the point that I remain steadfastly convinced old Madden titles are most of the reason nerds got into football. “Side Pocket” isn’t horrible in conveying the appeal of billiards, but it isn’t good enough to make me want to play billiards, at least not this version. I have vague memories of shareware billiards titles that had greater freedom of expression and improved presentation that was closer to what I would want from this experience. Switch Online, hey hey, Switch Online.
