Scenes With Beans

I was not expecting to be as impressed by this as I was. I was hopeful for a couple of cute scenes and little else, but the coordination required for so many of these shots boggles the mind. I’ve no doubt similar effects could be done with a computer today, but there’s a tangible difference between practical and digital effects and knowing each bean had to be arranged and moved in cityscapes left my jaw on the floor, to say nothing of the gloriously absurd imagery on display. Less appreciable to me is the social commentary about then-contemporaneous 70s life.
