Russian Doll (Nothing In This World Is Easy)

This is one of those shows that saw me get halfway through a season and then stopped for a reason that either escapes me or never existed; my best guess is “I didn’t want it to end” so I just didn’t end it. Regardless, a rewatch confirms RD’s first episode as a beacon of wit, not only landing punchlines with a greater success rate than plenty of shows with lower ambitions but communicating personalities, relationships, and stakes without resorting to info dumps or rote “as you know” scenes, a godsend on a platform that regards “Schitt’s Creek” as aspirational television.
