Rec 2

“Rec” is the gold standard of found-footage horror, a shining example of what can be accomplished in this subgenre that can’t be replicated in more classically respected horror. This sequel is almost as good, though I’ll disclose you might not feel that way if you have a boiling hatred towards any stupid teenagers in horror films. It’s more action-packed, more lore-heavy, and arguably more frightening in spots, though it isn’t nearly as ingenious in its presentation or execution. (I also didn’t like the poor man’s Café Tacvba over the credits, but whatever.) A lesser film but still an outstanding effort.
