Pandorum (2009 film)

I can see why “Pandorum” has a score of 30% on Rotten Tomatoes—the set design and cinematography recall wretched low-budget sci-fi horror, there are a bevy of plot twists loaded near the end, and Dennis Quaid is Dennis Quaid. Personally speaking, I had a great time watching it. Foster’s performance is plenty engaging, the narrative does a great job of serving piecemeal chunks of backstory without succumbing to too many “as you know” scenes, and those plot twists registered as satisfying to me. With a couple more million dollars and a surer guiding hand, this could’ve been something special.
