Network (1976 film)

This film wouldn’t leave my head. The granular specifics of the commentary are dated (the film is nearly fifty years old, what do you want), but the broad strokes still resonant today. Jokes land so hard and with such frequency, I found myself having to pause the film on multiple occasions because a throwaway line such as a Wall Street psychic admitting they are “occasionally prescient” towards other matters made me laugh hard enough to miss the “real” joke of the sequence. I don’t know what more you could ask from a satirical film. Eat your heart out, “Blazing Saddles”.
