Nathan for You (Season Two)

I’m afraid the elevator pitch of this show—funny man gives people rope—doesn’t do justice the ludicrous scenarios that come to pass. The big punchline of “Dumb Starbucks” is spoiled with its title, but the ludicrous yet comprehensible logic of the show manages to justify a pitstop at an open mic claiming members of the Rolling Stones have ED, and if surprise is a crucial aspect of the most successful comedy, it’s hard to think of a better comedy in the past ten years than this. This isn’t just “cringe” or awkward; it’s thoughtful, crafted, and most importantly, hilarious.
