Mister Miracle (Tom King run)

I don’t know how to break down how brilliant, heartbreaking, funny, thoughtful, and thought-provoking Tom King’s take on Mister Miracle is, to say nothing of conveying all of that without getting into spoilers. Suffice to say that I went into this expecting to experience something “only” on the level of his brilliant version of Marvel’s The Vision and I got something so wholly fulfilling that I want this to be taught in proper literature courses. It’s only twelve issues, but I lose count of the number of times I had to step away to absorb all I had just witnessed.
