Maki Itoh vs. Minoru Suzuki, from TJPW Grand Princess 2024

The wrestling equivalent of a chihuahua fighting a pitbull. Wrestling may be a fantastical thing, but they don’t pretend there’s any plausible way this could end beyond the obvious and focus instead on making great theater out of the path towards that end, and while Itoh’s comedy chops are well-documented, Suzuki’s comparatively straight-man tendencies might be underrated and certainly deserving of credit. I had figured this would only go eight minutes, but it must’ve been twice that long, and they never lost the crowd, which is something of a miracle for a modern comedy match. Almost up there with WeeLC.
