Little Women (2019 film)

At once a soft deconstruction and a wonderful reconstruction of the source, Greta Gerwig’s take on “Little Women” is constructed to ensure no part of it can hope to be the boring part, with past and present melded together to draw parallels where none existed save in the minds of overly enthusiastic English teachers over the years. Its two hours fly by, and the way it ends, with fixes to what have been argued to be problems with the text while remaining true to the material, is maybe the film’s finest moment. Gosh darn straight I loved all of this.
