Hitman 2 (2018 game, played on PS5 for review through “Hitman 3”)
I had grown to love “Hitman” 2016 because of its sharp divide between its conspiracy-laden, dead serious narrative and its bonkers gameplay that feels like you’re playing a homicidal Mr. Bean, and “Hitman 2” 2018 is a little more absurd and a little better for it. The story feels like it is getting some legs and going to some big revelations while the gameplay has you crash the stock market, booby-trap trap doors, and dress up like a flamingo mascot in service of big murder. It’s as comical as it sounds and I was laughing pretty much the whole time.
