Grosse Point Blank
I can’t explain the cult status this film enjoys (though, if I had to guess: attachment to its soundtrack by Gen X-ers that has metastasized into inordinate affection for the material it is soundtracking), but “Grosse Point Blank” otherwise hits the mark (gah) of being a funny movie. It isn’t anywhere as amusing as the laconic summation would have you thinking—hitman attends class reunion, spends half his time dodging bullets and the other half dodging questions about his vocation—but there’s enough chemistry from the leads and enough inspired bits to give this a solid, but not glowing, recommendation.
