Don’t Look Up

I do not object to “Don’t Look Up”’s message, messaging, or lack of subtlety. I imagine I vote for the same people writer/director/piece of shit Adam McKay does. “Up”’s failure is that it isn’t funny in the same manner too much modern comedy is, seemingly prideful of its lack of craft; multiple jokes involve people declaring “I NEED DURGS TO DEAL WITH THIS SHIT”. At least Grande and Mescudi are aware of the shlock they’re in and know how to make something work in this environment, and one late gag reminded me of a funnier YouTube video. Otherwise, disposable cinema.
