Don’t Look Now (1973 film)

I can’t imagine how audiences react to “Don’t Look Now” in 1973; I was barely prepared for it in 2022. In consistently working towards conveying the grieving process through a horror lens, “Don’t Look Now”, even in its lighter moments, always feels like it’s moments away from something catastrophic happening. It’s not always wholly sensical, heck, it’s not always successful in capturing the emotional states it is aiming for, but this film captures something raw with its cuts, loud moments, cinematography, and some of the most haunting bookends you’ll see out of a 70s horror film. A respectable cult classic.
