Doctor Who (Blink)

An arguably perfect example of how to execute comic horror on a shoestring budget. Cultural osmosis has spoiled the central villain and its greatest weakness, but I went into this unspoiled on pretty much everything else and it turns out there’s plenty else to the plot to appreciate that I won’t dare reveal here. The crowning achievement of this episode, to me, is making the protagonist, basically led around by the nose by forces outside of her control and understanding, a likeable and engaging presence, owing in equal measure to Carey Mulligan’s acting and Steven Moffat’s writing. One great hour.
