Devolver can never hope to top their first E3 showing, if only because the shock to the system that was the first one can never be topped, but this was their best E3 showcase since they started with these odd videos. Past instances of casual gore are replaced with more appreciable instances of filmmaking in service of punchlines, such as a corporate suit no-selling explosions around them and an impossibly spacious microwave. It’s still ads, of course, with only the Pocky and Rocky knockoff looking interesting to me, but it’s better than the winner of Best Live Action Short Film.
