CODA (2021 film)

“CODA” set a Sundance record with its distribution price, which is why it will sit in Apple TV+’s library, largely unnoticed, until Apple either acquires a more-respected streaming service or gives up on streaming. It’s a shame because, for as formulaic as this is, it deserves a bigger audience than it has. Everyone works their tails off to get the audience engaged, Troy Kotsur in particular, to get this thing to work, and they handily pull it off, making its two-hour runtime fly by. This could be someone’s favorite film of 2021 if they bothered to give it a chance.
