Castlevania: The Adventure (Castlevania Anniversary Collection version on Switch played for review)

Some of the monster designs are cool, the music is great, and a laconic description of many combat encounters in this game hints it could have been alright had any of it been executed with any degree of competency. Everything else about “Castlevania: The Adventure” sucks, from the protagonist moving slower than molasses to jumping across simple gaps often requiring one to have their back foot at the edge of a platform to fucking screen tearing on a Game Boy game—I didn’t even know a Game Boy title COULD have screen tearing before playing this tire fire. Simply atrocious.
