Bron Breakker vs. Dolph Ziggler for the NXT Championship, from WWE NXT Stand and Deliver 2022

The main event of the first Stand and Deliver under the NXT 2.0 banner was…well, I guess it was fine. On a show that was otherwise full of talent doing their best to deliver beyond their respective statuses, this was a fine bit of drama that would have been an acceptable as a show closer for Raw but, even discounting the lauded “series finale of wrestling” approach of Takeovers past, registered underwhelming. It was as though both performers worked like their match had a great bit of importance than was present, a greater setback than their disparate approaches to performing.
