Black Mirror (White Bear)

“You are unique in the world, one of a kind – This native land protected by God!” –from The State Anthem of the Russian Federation

“White Bear” is the worst episode of “Black Mirror” until its reveal. It is a weird thriller with the cinematography of a Bourne picture and less than half the choreography panache. It has to ride on its thrills, and there’s simply not much here. The reveal does a lot to redeem the episode by providing context for what is going on, revealing itself to be arguably the most loaded philosophical minefield Charlie Brooker has ever attempted.
