Belle (2021 film)

“Belle” asks that you forgive its disjointed, messy elements considering the place of tangible passion it ends up occupying. I won’t tell you if you will enjoy it, but I risk no controversy by saying a better film wouldn’t require such a tax. The music is great (though the songs could’ve been more frequent and longer), the broad strokes of the story were compelling, and the climax was a visually stunning, proper emotional denouement. I might’ve loved “Belle” if it was shorter or used so much of its considerable runtime doing something besides telling the audience what they already know.
