Batman Volume Two: I Am Suicide

Most of "Suicide" represents a step down from "Gotham", though it's a far cry from being terrible. The titular suicide (squad) mission is more of a trip to the grocery store than an adventure, and while the dialogue and art are on point, the exploration of Batman's backstory here brings greater thrills than the A-plot against Bane. The concluding "Rooftops" two-parter is where it gets really good, where the Tom King that made modern tragedy out of Vision shines through and offers the best take on The Bat and The Cat to date. That's worth the price of admission alone.
