Batman: The Animated Series (Baby-Doll) (series formally promoted at broadcast as The Adventures of Batman and Robin)

"I didn't mean to!"

"Heart of Ice" may be one of the best half-hours of television ever, but it would still work if it were live action. "Baby-Doll" has to be told as a cartoon to convey the comic absurdity that THIS is the villain of the week as well as the tragedy of the title character, driven to evil by society rather than their own rotten instincts who is given life by an inspired performance. This episode is elevated several points on the strength of its wrenching and unforgettable ending, one of the finest scenes the show ever produced.
