Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) for the IWGP Tag Team Championship, from New Japan Royal Quest II Night One

I don’t think every match needs to come across as a realistic simulation of fight (the format blows up that prospect, anyway), but in small doses, it can be quite agreeable. I love the story of the big creepy dudes beating down the well-oiled machine that is FTR, and while I feel this went a little too long and had some weird interactions down the stretch, it was mostly a good time. I also find it adorable that 6’3’’ Mark Davis is billed as some colossus; that’s just so cute to me. Somebody’s pick for 2022 MOTY, that’s for sure.
