Astro’s Playroom

A glorified tech demo and extended advertisement for Sony’s electronic entertainment branch disguised as a history lesson—whatever, “Yo! Noid” is over thirty years old and the corporations won. At least the corporations deign to make the apocalypse fun as “Astro’s Playroom” is long on spectacle and wit and short in length, which is fine for a pack-in game for the kids. In fact, the only objectionable element outside of the self-congratulatory stink of it all was a reference to Pyramid Head from “Silent Hill 2”. I pity the parent tasked with explaining that knee slapper to their wide-eyed offspring.
