AJ Styles vs. CM Punk (Pure Wrestling Rules) to crown the inaugural ROH Pure Champion, from Ring of Honor Second Anniversary Show

Aside from this not fitting into the mold of a great indie match, I have no idea why this doesn’t get more love. There’s plenty of great character work involving both guys trying to wrap their heads around the rules, it isn’t short on engaging action, and the finishing sequence left me satisfied. I’ve read several reviews knocking this one for the guys making mistakes, but I don’t see how this is an issue unless you operate under the assumption that no character in fiction is ever allowed to make a mistake, a stupid presumption if ever there was one.
