A Recipe for Seduction
It’s difficult to assess projects whose appeal lies in being “so bad they’re good”, but I usually hope for something with an agreeable energy—think “Miami Connection” over “The Room”. “Recipe”, unfortunately, lacks a manic nature or self-awareness to make for something enjoyable by itself, reading as a typical Lifetime feature in fast-forward that stars the mascot of a major restaurant chain. The best joke involves someone casually writing a check for half a million dollars, and it’s executed far less outlandishly than that sounds. This was attached to a full-length film I didn’t watch that was likely much worse.
