Twin Peaks (Rest in Pain)

The dirty little secret of great mystery stories: what the inciting incident brings out of the cast and surroundings is more important than the eventual resolution. The answer isn’t unimportant, yes, but just as “The Mouse Trap” brings to light questions of identity and “Knives Out” lets its cast engage in comic lunacy, “Twin Peaks”, when it isn’t being the most batfuck insane things ever broadcast on ABC, is the epitome of the word “tragicomedy”, manifest here as Ferrer gloriously chewing the scenery and Fine’s Leland Palmer losing it at his daughter’s funeral. You can’t make me hate this show.
